Three to the power two

Electric, linear push-rod actuators such as those manufactured by elero Linearantriebstechnik may be used in a number of mechanical engineering situations. Compared to hydraulic and pneumatic drive units they offer a number of application advantages. Thus they are virtually maintenance-free, very rarely prone to malfunctions, require no lubricants, may be positioned exactly, have a constant stroke speed, and come with a mechanical self-locking mechanism. One example of the development advances in the field of linear actuators is the SPC-capable linear actuator Junior 2 MSP. This is being presented by elero Linearantriebstechnik together with two other developments at this year's MOTEK trade fair from 21 to 24 September in Sinsheim (Hall 4, Stand 4220).

Junior 2 MSP: Suited to SPC thanks to an electronic circuit board

Junior 2 MSP is the name given to the linear actuator which, thanks to a new electronic circuit board, may be integrated more simply into SPC-controlled plants. Whereas with the predecessor models it was necessary to have an additional power output phase, the versatile push-rod actuator may now be coupled directly to the SPC. Despite the electronic circuit board, the Junior 2 MSP, which has a driving force of 100 to 10,000 Nm, may also be used in plants without SPC, where it also offers the additional benefit of an electronic limit switch.

Econom 2: Power in a small space

The first-generation Econom already had a high driving force while taking up very little space. The elero developers have now doubled the capacity of the actuator: In contrast to the Econom with 10 kN, the slender push-rod actuator Econom 2 has a capacity of 20 kN. Thus it is primarily suited to installation situations where there is very little space and where a precise, powerful actuator is required.

Vario 2: Twice as much power

The linear actuator Vario, to date available with a capacity of 50 kN, can now be obtained as the Vario 2 model with a maximum driving force of 100 kN. The actuator, already suited to "tough cases", may thus be used in situations requiring even more power, for instance in special mechanical engineering situations, in materials handling equipment und communications engineering, as well as with overhead contact lines and in shipbuilding.
